Is Lloret de Mar a good destination for a family holiday?
Yes, as long as you choose your villa's location with care. The centre of Lloret gets lively in the summer and turns into a hub for young people in the evenings, but the bays and residential areas surrounding the town are peaceful, offering plenty of villas with private pools well away from the nightlife.
During the day, there is plenty to keep children entertained: swimming in the coves, walking a stretch of the coastal Camí de Ronda, or spending a day at the Waterworld water park or the Jardins de Santa Clotilde. In the evenings, staying in at the villa is usually your best bet with kids—firing up the barbecue together and taking a final dip in the pool before the 10:00 PM quiet hours begin.
Should you choose a villa in the hills or close to the beach when travelling with children?
That depends on what matters most to you: peace and space, or having the beach within walking distance. The hills offer more tranquillity and generally larger plots of land, but you will almost always need to drive to the beach and shops. Staying near the bay of Canyelles or in Fenals means you can walk to the beach and rely less on your car, though you will be closer to fellow holidaymakers.
The villas that we rent exclusively to families and couples are located 1.8 to 7.1 kilometres from the beach. The three seaside villas featured in this guide are between 300 and 800 metres away. Which villas does CostaCabana rent exclusively to families and couples?
In Lloret de Mar, these include four villas with private pools: Villa BellaVista, Villa Tropicana, Villa Noa, and Villa Esmee. Groups cannot book these villas, meaning you won't be sharing the house or the street with groups of friends on holiday. All four are situated outside the town centre in residential neighbourhoods that stay quiet in the evenings.
Villa BellaVista
Villa BellaVista is located in the Rocca Grossa residential area and features 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, accommodating 9 guests or up to 10 with an extra bed. The private pool measures 9 by 4 metres and ranges from 1.1 to 1.4 metres in depth, set on a 750 m² plot. The outdoor area is completely private and fenced.
The beach is 1.8 kilometres away, the supermarket and bakery are 1.2 kilometres away, and the town centre is 2.2 kilometres away. We recommend bringing a car.
Villa Tropicana
Villa Tropicana in Serra Brava is our largest family villa, offering 8 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms for up to 17 guests on a 2200 m² plot. Behind the house, you will find an artificial grass play area complete with two small football goals and play equipment. The private pool measures 10 by 5 metres and features wide steps that gradually slope to a depth of 2 metres.
The supermarket and bakery are 1 kilometre away, the beach is 3.5 kilometres away, and the town centre is 5 kilometres away. The Serra Brava neighbourhood also features a public pool, a tennis court, and playgrounds.
Villa Noa
Villa Noa is a compact home suited for a family of 4, or 5 with an extra bed, offering 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on a quiet cul-de-sac in Serra Brava. The private pool measures 8 by 4 metres and is 1.2 to 1.8 metres deep, set on a 600 m² plot featuring a lawn and sun loungers.
A restaurant is located 600 metres away, the supermarket is 4.4 kilometres away, and the beach is 3.5 kilometres away. If you are travelling with a larger group, Villa Noa can be booked alongside Villa Chanel, which is located right next door.
Villa Esmee
Villa Esmee enjoys a peaceful setting in Lloret Blau outside the town centre and features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for 6 guests. The private pool measures 6.5 by 4.5 metres with a depth of 1.5 to 2 metres, meaning young children cannot swim here without supervision. The plot size is 800 m².
The bakery is 950 metres away, the supermarket is 4.5 kilometres away, and the beach is 7.1 kilometres away. Parking is available on the street or at the top of the steep driveway. This home is ideal for families looking for peace and quiet who enjoy exploring the area by car.
Which family villas are located close to the beach?
Villa Blanca is situated 300 metres from Cala Canyelles, Villa Valeria is 800 metres from Canyelles beach, and Villa Dolce Vita is 300 metres from Fenals beach. We rent these three properties to families as well as groups with a minimum average age of 18.
Canyelles is a sheltered bay featuring a small harbour, a beach bar, and a restaurant, making it quieter for families than the main beach. Fenals is located right next to the town centre. You can find all the villas in this area on the vakantiehuizen in Lloret de Mar page.
Villa Blanca
Villa Blanca is a semi-detached villa with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and 2 toilets, accommodating 6 guests or 7 with a sofa bed. It features a private pool and a fenced outdoor area, and is just a few minutes' walk—300 metres—from Cala Canyelles. A restaurant is located 300 metres away.
You will need to take the car for groceries, as the supermarket is 2.8 kilometres away and the centre of Lloret is 4.2 kilometres away. There is air conditioning in the living room and upstairs.
Villa Valeria
Villa Valeria is located in Canyelles and offers 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 3 toilets for up to 9 guests. The private pool measures 8 by 4 metres with depths ranging from 1.1 to 1.8 metres, situated on a 550 m² plot.

Villa Dolce Vita

The supermarket is 550 metres away, a restaurant is 150 metres away, and the town centre is 900 metres away. A car is not necessary here. Please keep in mind that you are close to the town centre, so you will hear more of the city sounds in the evening than you would up in the hills.
Villa Blanca and Villa Dolce Vita are closest to the sea, both situated 300 metres from the beach. Villa Dolce Vita (550 metres) and Villa Valeria (600 metres) are the closest to a supermarket, making it easy to walk for your groceries. The family villas located in the hills sit between 1.8 and 7.1 kilometres from the beach.
Which villas are less suitable for young children?
These are the villas primarily set up for groups of friends, featuring many sleeping spaces but fewer amenities tailored to young children. The villa pages for Villa Sarai, Villa Rosa, Villa Nicky, Villa Sunny Beach, and Villa Sunrise state that families are welcome, but note that the furnishings and amenities are not specifically geared towards kids.
This doesn't mean they are unsafe, simply that the houses are designed with adults in mind. If you are travelling with young children, you will be much more comfortable in one of the villas listed above.
